The Client
The University faculty initiative aimed at providing the business community and public with a deeper understanding of major issues and trends around the future of business. They bring together insights from university researchers with insights from leading thinkers in industry, government and community and delivers these acumen’s through a variety of medium including written analysis, video, events and podcasts.
A start-up initiative, the client had a limited budget and tight timeframe on acquiring IT infrastructure and creating a website and logo in order to secure a digital presence.
Their Problem
When initial discussions began between the client and Cloud Native, the concept was merely an idea. While the initiative was clear on what they wanted to achieve – bringing together researchers and thought leaders to discuss technology, hype, business and the weird and the wonderful things that impact our world – the team required a total solution to bring their idea to life.

Cloud Hosting and Infrastructure
Built on the AWS platform using industry best practice architecture designed for fault tolerance and highly resilient to single points of failure with a foundation that easily scales to suit the demands of the business. The platform is fully managed end to end with reporting, monitoring, alerting and SLA’s that ensure business continuity and performance when it’s of utmost importance.
Logo and Brand Style Guide
The faculty team faced a unique set of challenges in that they needed to create a logo that resonated with their ideologies, but, as a wider initiative of the University, the needed to adhere to the strict existing university’s brand guidelines. Cloud Native worked closely and carefully with the group to create a unique logo that is revered by both the initiative and the university’s marketing team.
Website Design

Website Development
Using WordPress as the content management system of choice, Cloud Native developed a fully responsive website for mobile, tablet and desktop. We developed a custom theme that would allow the team to change various settings based on current events and focussed topics. Utilising existing plugin and custom functionality, we were able to successfully deliver all the requirements.
Ongoing Support and Updates
As part of the handover, we provided training to all staff for general WordPress knowledge and specific SBI features. We continually support the client through a retainer agreement which involves technical and general support, WordPress updates, design and functionality additions, and the maintenance of their cloud and hosting environment.
